HOME INVASION SUSPECT INDICTED

 

 

San Antonio, Texas: District Attorney Susan D. Reed today announced that Raul Pacheco, thirty-five years old, was indicted by the grand jury today on five counts of Burglary of a Habitation. The home invasion cases occurred in the Sherril Brook and Bandera area, on the city’s northwest side. The defendant, who is an illegal immigrant, is currently in custody on a $650,000.00 bond.  He also has a detainer from immigration authorities and by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for a parole violation. The home invasions occurred from November 2004 through January 2005, when Pacheco was arrested. Pacheco has previous convictions for Robbery and two Burglaries’ of a Habitation.  Pacheco is accused of knocking on the doors of the victims and asking for a certain individual.  When the homeowners opened the door, Pacheco would force his way in with an air pistol. Pacheco would then either tie up his victims or force them through their home at gun-point, robbing the homeowner of valuables. The indictments are all first-degree felonies with an enhancement punishment range of 25 to 99 years or life.
