Former Bexar County Narcotics Deputies Indicted

 

 

San Antonio, Texas: November 24, 2010

San Antonio, Texas: District Attorney Susan D. Reed announced today that a Bexar County Grand Jury returned indictments against former Bexar County Sheriff’s Office Deputies Charles Flores, age 32 and Anthony Alvarado, age 32.

These charges arise from conduct engaged in by these Deputies while assigned to the Bexar County Narcotics Unit. The indictment against Alvarado contains four counts which accuse him of Theft by Public Servant $1,500 to $20,000, Misapplication by a Fiduciary and Abuse of Official Capacity.

Flores was indicted on five counts including Theft by Public Servant $1,500 to $20,000, Misapplication by a Fiduciary and Aggravated Perjury.

Aggravated Perjury and Theft by Public Servant $1,500-$20,000 is a Third Degree Felony punishable by confinement from two to ten years in prison. Abuse of Official Capacity and Misapplication by a Fiduciary $1,500-$20,000 are State Jail Felonies punishable by confinement from 180 days up to two years in a state jail facility.

These cases are pending in the 437th District Court. A trial date has not been set.
