The following Guide is a quick outline of types of motions set on Bexar County's Monitoring Court Centralized Docket System and is not intended to replace the Local Rules.

  • All hearings in Monitoring Court are set at 8:30 a.m. with the Civil Jury Assignment's Office. 
  • All motions filed with the Civil Jury Assignment's Office must include an ORDER, FIAT or NOTICE OF HEARING.
  • Three (3) days notice is required -- weekends, legal and local holidays observed
  • not included

The following Guide is a quick outline of types of motions set on Bexar County's Presiding Court Centralized Docket System and is not intended to replace the Local Rules.

  • Pre-trial hearings will be scheduled and heard at 8:30 a.m. or  9:00 a.m. (see below)
  • Attorneys should bring to each 8:30 a.m. hearing a written order that sets forth relief anticipated.
  • Uncontested matters are set at 8:15 a.m. and 1:15 p.m.
  • Three (3) days notice is required -- weekends, legal and local holidays observed not included.
  • All Non-evidentiary hearings are set at 8:30 a.m. or shall have noted an attempt to confer.

8:30 a.m. docket 

 

The following is a list of types of motions that are set in Presiding Court at 8:30 a.m.

 

Motion to/for:

  • Compel
  • Substitution
  • Quash
  • StrikeWitnesses/Experts
  • Revoke
  • Sanctions
  • Sever
  • Leave to file
  • Any other Non-Evidentiary
  • Abatement
  • Summary Judgment (need at least 21 days notice)
  • Require Medical Examination
  • Special Appearance
  • Continuance (non-jury setting)
  • Withdrawal of Counsel
  • Notice of Appeal of Master's report
  • Stay proceedings
  • Enter order on Summary Judgment or assess to     pre- trial motion that is subject    set aside or assess for new trial (Exception -- to jurisdiction.goes back to Judge that heard matter unless Judge is not available, then set motion in presiding)
 


 
  • Non-jury Trials on the Merits and requests for Temporary Injunctions and Temporary Orders will be scheduled and heard at 9:00 a.m.
  • Three (3) days notice is required -- weekends, legal and local holidays observed not included.
  • All Evidentiary hearings are set at 9:00 a.m.

9:00 a.m. docket 

 

The following is a list of types of motions that are set in Presiding Court at 9:00 a.m.

 

Motion to/for:

  • Temporary Order
  • Writ of Sequestration
  • Modification(45 days notice)
  • To Transfer(45 days notice)
  • Writ of Habeas Corpus(no time limit)
  • Writ of Attachment(no time limit)
  • Contempt, Enforcement(at least 10 days notice or more)
  • Trial on the Merits(not less than 45 days notice -- except when agreed)
  • Bill of Review(at least 21 days notice)
  • Temporary Restraining Order(not less than 3 days notice/not more than 14 days notice[including weekends])

2:00 p.m. docket

  • Rule for Costs
  • Tax (Every other Wednesday [call clerk for exact date])
